COMPLETE PROJECT LIST |
|
|
This is a complete list of the most prominent projects the NCSA Education Division has been involved in. The most recent projects are on the top.
- Broadening Participation in Computing (BPC) (March 15, 2006 - March 15, 2007)
- Engaging People in Cyberinfrastructure (April 15, 2005 - December 31, 2006)
The goal of Engaging People In Cyberinfrastructure (EPIC) is to build human capacity by creating awareness of the opportunities afforded through cyberinfrastruture(CI) and by educating and training a diverse group of people in all stages of life from K-12 to professional practice to fully participate in the CI community as developers, users, and leaders. - Computational Science Education Reference Desk (CSERD) (April 01, 2005 - September 30, 2006)
Broader impact educational projects are required as a part of major research initiatives including those at the national supercomputer centers. The research to learning effort is to ensure that these projects are developed in accordance with the design of CSERD and are thereby incorporated into National Science Digital Library (NSDL). NCSA will document a process that can be successfully emulated to generate educational content from computational science projects. - REVITALISE (December 07, 2002 - April 08, 2006)
REVITALISE focuses on creating a virtual learning environment for rural middle and high school mathematics and science teachers to help reduce teacher isolation and stimulate a renewed excitement for teaching and learning. - CIP Outreach (January 01, 2000 - January 01, 2006)
The cyberinfrastructure outreach (CIO) team is focused on the development and expansion of the user base for cyberinfrastructure technologies and resources. Particular attention is given to proactively engaging under-represented populations, including women, minorities and people with disabilities from majority and minority serving institutions, as researchers, partners, educators, leaders, and regular users of cyberinfrastructure. - Education - Linked Environments for Atmospheric Discovery (EDU-LEAD) (January 01, 2000 - January 01, 2005)
The LEAD Education team of undergraduate meterology students and NCSA Education computer science students are collaborating via the Access Grid in a number of activities to bring the LEAD workflow model and tools to undergraduate and pre-college communities. - Girls Engaged in Mathematics and Science (GEMS) (January 01, 2000 - January 01, 2005)
Girls Engaged in Mathematics and Science is a program designed to encourage junior high aged girls to pursue mathematics and scientific fields of study. - CSynergy 2003 (November 30, 1999 - January 01, 2003)
- Access Grid Documentation (November 30, 1999 - November 30, 1999)
We have a Research in Education for Undergraduates grant to document the use of the Access Grid and its shared applications for education communities. Through the REVITALISE program, we are able to test the limit of AG capabilities for teaching and learning. - CIO/CIP (November 30, 1999 - November 30, 1999)
The vision of the CI Outreach Group (NCSA and San Diego) is to design, assemble, and create cyberinfrastructure and multimedia content that both meets the training and outreach needs of the various scientific research and education communities within CI, and to broadly disseminate this content through interactive inquiry-based materials and multimedia rich formats. - NCSI and Supercomputing Conferences (November 30, 1999 - November 30, 1999)
- TeacherTech (November 30, 1999 - November 30, 1999)
- Bugscope (Beckman Institute) (November 30, 1999 - November 30, 1999)
- EOT-PACI (November 30, 1999 - November 30, 1999)
- Graduate Teaching Fellows in K-12 Education (GK-12) (November 30, 1999 - November 30, 1999)
- I-KNOW (November 30, 1999 - November 30, 1999)
- MEAD/LEAD (November 30, 1999 - November 30, 1999)
- National Laboratory for Advanced Data Research (NLADR) (November 30, 1999 - November 30, 1999)
- EdGrid (November 30, 1999 - November 30, 1999)
- Emerging Technology Course (GSLIS) (November 30, 1999 - November 30, 1999)
- Graduate Teaching Fellows in K-12 Education (GK-12) (November 30, 1999 - November 30, 1999)
- NCSI and Supercomputing Conferences (November 30, 1999 - November 30, 1999)
- Riverweb (November 30, 1999 - November 30, 1999)
- Girls Engaged in Mathematics and Science (November 30, 1999 - November 30, 1999)
